Introduction This document covers the Management Instrument (GFI) Monitor 2009 software which is installed upon all GFI-equipped Cisco routers running software version 2.3.x or prior of the Software Interoperability Testing Suite (SITU) released for the Cisco 7500 Series Routers released in July 2006. The Cisco 7600 Series, 9000 Series, and 9600 Series Routers have a proprietary GFI Interface which is used for monitoring performance, including the ability to configure the software interface and monitor interfaces and interfaces by configuring a single command. Many Cisco devices are affected by this particular issue. Devices which run the Software Interoperability Testing Suite (SITU) version 2.3.x have the GFI Monitor 2009 software installed on them. These devices support monitoring via the GFI-based monitoring interface. 2. Requirements All versions of Cisco 7600, 9600, 9100, and 9200 Series routers. All versions of Cisco UCS 2.4.x, 3.x and 4.x Software Interface. All versions of Cisco routers running Software Interoperability Testing Suite version 2.3.x or prior. All versions of Cisco UCS 3.x and 4.x Software Interface. 3. Install ability The default management interface on all Cisco UCS 2.4.x, 3.x and 4.x version routers. The default management interface is also available on Cisco UCS 1.x and 3.x version routers. The default management interface on all Cisco UCS Router OS versions. On UCS routers running software versions 2.3.x and 1.3.x only, a default management interface is also available. On Cisco UCS router operating systems, the following interfaces are available to configure (each interface has a different password): GFI-Router: The management interface is available on all Cisco UCS routers, and is a user interface similar to the CLI. GFI-Router2: The management interface is available on the UCS Manager OS (version 2.4.x only). This interface is disabled by default. GFI-Admin: For all Cisco UCS routers, this interface is available on the UCS Manager OS Version 1.3.x only.
