1. Cable/connector and interface 2.1.1. Connection interfaces The ALMELO 3S data logger operates on both RS422 and CAT I Ethernet. The connector allows the data logger to work as a standard RS422 device. 2.1.2. Data logger interface The RS422 interface is provided with the ALMELO 3S series. The connector can be found on both connectors B1 and B2 of the data logger. The connector is located between the data logging unit and the output connector. It provides a one-wire connection to the system, to be used as a standard RS422 device when desired by the end user. Connector to power source The connector is suitable for power on operation or powered-off. The power source can be provided by using external power supply, AC adapter, or other suitable devices. 2.1.3. Data logger control interface The Control interface of the ALMELO 3S series can be accessed through a port located between the Data logging unit and the output connector. It is the only input interface that is available with all ALMELO 3S series products. 2.1.3.1. Data logger interface The Control interface can control any of the features of the ALMELO 3S series. The connector allows the operating unit to be configured to meet a variety of demands. The switch-on features (C1, C3) can be set for various combinations of the sensors, switches etc. The ALMELO 3S series are offered with a range of configurations for various requirements, depending on the specifications of the system. 2.1.3.2. Power in contact The system should always be power on when the system is in used to avoid battery leakage. 2.1.3.3.
