[Music] I'm Nate Jacobson team fabricator shop superintendent down here in Port Arthur Texas our customers in this area are petrochemical and refineries we also dabble in the power industry one of the largest issues with these projects is the actual craftsman that we're looking for we do have a shortage of will in not just here in this shop but in this area in general really probably a country you know nationwide we started this training facility last year to try to help us develop the workers that we need 12-week program four days a week 10 hours a day you know the students will be able to kind of get the hands-on of what actually is going on into the industry after years of experience and training these people we hope to gain their loyalty and have a steady work force they have either little to no experience in welding, so we can basically build them up from that basic starting point it's an easier way to accelerate their career path in this industry and knowing that they're going to be able to create that product that we need to go out the door for our customers a welding school it still doesn't give you that experience going in trying to apply for jobs they wouldn't hire me because I don't have to 25 years of prior experience the opportunity to come here and be paid to learn how to weld and then go straight in into it is really great you don't hear about in-house training like this its people fight for jobs like this it's really a great opportunity we wanted something that would be easy for anybody to be able to come in be able to set this machine we're familiar with the pipework we're using the five forks in our production I don't think there was ever even a discussion about using any other machine we just knew when we're going to buy machines for this they got to be pipework you don't want something that's going to take forever to be able to set up especially for transition from process to process let's say you were flux cooling, and you need to fix something with the bigger so all you have to do is just pick it up if you get there the button on the machine as soon as you hit the pedal it switches for you worth it having it easy to read display it's so easy for a new student to come in and basically works for a whole fishing it's really the best machine that we have because it has made flux-cored take all the same one it was very easy to use I want to sound a kind of overconfident, but it's kind of idiot-proof you know just like it was over simplified, and it helped me with the transition of learning to take rubbing makes me more confident as a welder because I will become a combination welder and I know how to perform each type of work it's so simple with it is makes training somebody that hasn't even welded before becoming easy
