The Livestock Project is a place for learning and sharing ideas. Our mission is to shine a light on the challenges, concerns, and successes of non-conventional livestock and poultry farmers and those who support them.
Learn skills of current practices in the livestock industry to be able to raise, produce, and/or market livestock. Students will study nutrition, reproduction, genetics, live and carcass evaluation, health and management of livestock.

State livestock projects provide an experiential learning approach to animal production agriculture. Furthermore, research shows that soft skills are desired by employers when hiring new applicants. Youth livestock projects develop students' communication, team work, leadership and decision making skills.
Such an agriculture permits a nation to store large quantities of grains and other foodstuffs in concentrated form to be utilized to raise animals for human consumption during such emergencies as war or natural calamity.
Showing and exhibiting livestock teaches kids the importance of sportsmanship. They learn at an early age how to win and lose humbly. In addition to competing against others, showing livestock teaches kids how to be internal competitors with themselves and that there is always room for improvement.
