Who needs a Packing list?
This form is used in trade and is completed by a shipper or seller of goods. This document accompanies goods shipped by air, sea, railway or road. The packing list is usually found inside the delivery package.
What is the Packing list for?
The packing list contains the information about the delivered goods (description, weight, quantity) and the information about the customer (name, address). The main purpose of this form is to inform the buyer, transport company and government authorities what goods were delivered to the buyer and in what quantity.
What documents must accompany the Packing list?
This form is usually included in the package with the delivered goods. The packing list is forwarded to the recipient of the goods, while the invoice is forwarded to the individual who pays the bill.
How long does it take to fill the Packing list out?
The supplier won’t need to spend much time completing the form -- it usually takes 15 minutes or less.
What information should be provided in the Packing list?
This document contains the following information:
- Number of order
- Date of shipment
- Name and address of the recipient
- Date of order, type of shipment, number of container, invoice number
- Detailed description of the shipped goods (item number, quantity, weight)
- Name of the packer
- Comments (if there are any)
What do I do with the Packing list after its completion?
Once the Packing list is completed, it’s placed in the package box with the goods. When the recipients open the box, they will check if the box contents correspond to the items listed in the document.
