Recertification is on a three year cycle. Once you pass the certification exams and receive your license you will need to receive continuing education for recertification credits. There are in person and online opportunities available throughout the year. Every Applicator needs 6 Core Credits.
Each exam has between 25 and 150 questions, depending on the category. You must pass both the core exam and at least one category exam in order to become licensed. Commercial/Public Pesticide Applicator How to Get It: Pass two tests (one core and one or more category tests) and be employed by a company with pesticide business license. Costs: Core test - $50, each category test - $10, Commercial license - $40 per year, Public license - $10 every 3 years.
All exams for public/commercial applicators (core and category specific) are closed book exams.
