1. When we apply for the automobile license plates, we get the old plates back, then we do our business with you. I received them in the mail. What do I do? There are two ways to obtain new plate if it is out of state; you can get a new license plate in person at the DMV, or you can submit a change form to us online on the DMV's website. You would then get a new license plate by mail. Your old license plate will be placed in the inventory, and you will be notified when the next supply is available in late June or early July. I am changing my registration, and now I must get this new number. Who do I contact? DMV will notify you when we are ready to send out your new license plates. Please call in person, or if you need to contact us from overseas. What is the cost for commercial plates? Commercial plates cost 25 per year. When do I need to pay the license fee? The license fee for commercial plates is due the first of each month at 12:01 a.m. If you have already paid your fee, you may pay later at any of our three license plates centers; the fee due date on your license is the date on your payment receipt. If you do not pay your license fee by the due date stated on your receipt, your license will expire at the end of the month (i.e. the June 30 due date on your license will be the last date you will be able to renew your plates) (see expiration date for other license plate expiration date dates and fees). The following table lists the monthly fees for the following classifications of commercial plates (see Commercial plates page). Commercial plate fees in effect for the current month, and for the following months, are included in the fees listed for commercial plates. If the fee quoted is different from the fee for the current month and/or the next month, it is due at the time of your plate change and must be paid when you arrive at the DMV to change plates. The plate fee is also used by commercial plate providers to help offset the costs of printing and issuing commercial parking stickers and registration cards.
