Our team offers a six-year curriculum leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) degree. Acceptance into the program is on a competitive basis, with the major determinant being the prerequisite science grade point average SGPA. Today, the program accepts 52 students annually out of an average of 150 applicants.
The DPT program is 3 years in length; always beginning in June. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. However, to be competitive, over the past few years the applicant has needed a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Our program prepares students for success. UW–Madison students, on average, score above students from other Wisconsin and national programs on the NPTE exam for all content and system areas.
We generally accept around 25-40% of qualified applications each year, and maintain a waiting pool from which roughly 5-10 applicants are offered admission each year.
Acceptance: 42.5% of applicants were accepted. The 2-year graduation rate weighted average for years 2022-2023 is 97.8%.
The University of Iowa has the highest acceptance rate among these, around 82.55%.
