What is a Reduced Course Load? With proper authorization, an RCL allows F-1 and M-1 students to drop below full-time enrollment without losing their student status. This is possible under specific conditions such as academic difficulties, medical issues or during a student's final term.
International students need to have at least nine in person credits ing to the regulations by DHS. If they decide to take more than 12 credits, they can take more than one online course.

Undergraduate students are required to be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester. Graduate students must generally be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours.
If you are approved under specific criteria, a Reduced Study Load allows you to study less than 50 points in a half-year period (January to June or July to December).
