I'm Doctor Eileen Hayes I'm chair of the department of music, I'm Phillip Hollister Hello I'm Terry Ewell, my name is Dave Ballot, I'm an associate professor of music education My degree program is bachelor of music, I am a senior at Towson University I am currently in my last semester and I came to Towson because it was the best place that gave me all the options that I was looking for. We have a lot to offer all students from various backgrounds those who want to be music majors and those who wish to just add music to their general liberal arts curriculum. Towson University provides a plethora of classes as a percussionist to have a well-balanced education before I travel to the real world or become a master student. We really pride ourselves here at Towson on giving our undergraduates a really solid education in music and liberal arts in general we pride ourselves on small class sizes individual student learning where professors are accessible to their students One thing that sets Towson apart I think is that our students get a lot of individualized attention and I always tell students that if you don't want that individualized attention don't come to Towson because it's inevitable. We've got a factory here that really care for the students whether you're in the classroom such as the one I'm in right now or whether you would have one-on-one lessons with our faculty you'll find there's a teacher there that's engaged in what you're doing and that's invested in you learning. All you have to do is try really, really hard and no matter what everyone's going to be behind you and that's exactly what the faculty do here. The faculty is excellent so that our students too can be excellent. The professors that teach here are really dedicated to their discipline, and they're all very active performers, and they're also dedicated to passing it on they have a real passion for passing on music to the next generation unlike some universities or some schools in music where you would go and there might be a single person that teachers trumpet and trombone and horn here at Towson University we have just specialists on each instrument, so you'll get excellent and outstanding training. Our students get lots of opportunities to perform not only in our choirs but also in operas and musicals in solo recital we have master classes on a regular basis every year with internationally-known singers composers coaches of the like. You'll have an opportunity as an undergraduate to be in some of our top ensembles many schools have such a large graduate program that their undergraduates rarely if ever get a chance to play in the principal spots, but that's not the case here at Towson you'll have a chance and a real opportunity to show your musical talents here at Towson. We do a lot of opera productions musical theater productions with our students which is kind of unique actually in the University System of Maryland that undergraduates get a chance to perform full roles of...
