Child care expenses means costs necessary for providing care of a child to enable work, education or job-related activities.
You can claim Tax-Free Childcare if: You have a child aged 0-11 years old (or until 16 if they are disabled) You, and any partner, must be over 16 and each expect to earn (on average) at least £183 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage).
The maximum amount you can claim is: $8,000 for each child under 7 years of age at the end of the year. $5,000 for each child between 7 and 16 years of age.
2022-2024. For tax years 2022, 2023 and 2024, there is a limit of $3,000 for one qualifying person, or $6,000 for two or more qualifying persons. The credit is not refundable. Your credit amount is dependent on your income and can be between 20 and 35% ($600 - $1,050) of the expenses.
You get the maximum amount for each child and your payment is not reduced. For each eligible child: under 6 years of age: $7,997 per year ($666.41 per month) aged 6 to 17 years of age: $6,748 per year ($562.33 per month)
