This video will show you how to activate your HSBC Online Security Device in 2 simple steps, and you only have to activate it once. Your new Online Security Device provides an unrivalled level of security to protect you when banking online. You will need your existing and new online security device. Step 1: Press and hold the green button to turn on your Online Security Device. NEW PIN will be displayed. Enter a 4 – 6 digits Pins which you can easily remember, then press the yellow button. Make sure to avoid easy to guess and unsafe combinations.'NEW PIN CONE#39; will be displayed. Re-enter your PIN to confirm it is correct. Once you confirm your PIN correctly, your device will display 'HSBC#39;. In the event that 'Fail pin' or 'Not Safe#39; is displayed, press the yellow button and return to step 1 to set up your PIN again. These error messages could be displayed because you haven't#39’t successfully entered the same PIN twice, or you have entered an unsafe combination. Now for Step 2 — activating your new Security Device:Securely log onto HSBC Internet Banking at www.hsbc.com.auLocate the serial number on the back of your new Online Security Device and enter it in the field shown on screen. As you've already created your PIN, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and enter in your security code. To do this and finalize the activation of your Online Security Device, press the green button and enter the PIN you have just created. Generate the security code by pressing the green button again when 'HSBC#39; is displayed. Enter the 6 digit security code displayed on your device in the field shown on screen. Now generate a security code from your existing Online Security Device and enter this on screen. This will now deactivate your existing Online Security Device and you can discard it. And that's it! You have successfully completed the activation of your new Online Security Device. You can continue to use HSBC internet banking with the confidence and peace of mind that you are protected when transacting online.
