There is no pass / fail for a flight review. The only 2 outcomes are you completed it, or you need some further training before the instructor feels he can safely sign you off. Minimum is 1 hour of flight and 1 hour of ground. That's the only requirements.
You must complete the BFR to be able to continue to use the privileges of your licence, unless exempted by one of the conditions in rule 61.39(b). If your BFR has expired, you can fly only as a student pilot (solo and under supervision). The CAA has produced a free bookmark that slots into the pilot logbook.
The minimum requirement for a BFR includes one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight time. In most cases, the process is completed within a single day. However, if you've been away from flying for an extended time, your instructor may recommend additional classroom time or splitting the BFR over two days.
Every private pilot must complete a Biennial Flight Review (BFR) every 24 months to retain currency.
For holders of pilot certificates issued by the United States Federal Aviation Administration a flight review (previously the FAA referred to this as a biennial flight review, usually abbreviated BFR) is a review required of every active holder of a U.S. pilot certificate at least every 24 calendar months.
Legal Implications of Skipping the BFR Such violations can lead to serious legal consequences, including fines, suspension, or even revocation of pilot certificates. The FAA enforces these regulations stringently to uphold safety within the National Airspace System.
Flying without a valid BFR is illegal under FAA regulations. If caught, you could face fines, certificate suspension, or even revocation. Additionally, your insurance may be voided, and in the event of an accident, you could be held liable for damages due to non-compliance.
VFR flight plans can be filed up to 24 hours before the estimated time of departure. If the flight is domestic (US) the VFR flight plan can be filed with the FAA. Though pilots are not required to file a VFR flight plan with the FAA, it is still recommended for tracking purposes in the event of an emergency.
