A Road Approach Permit allows you to construct a driveway accessing a county road. When you apply for a Road Approach Permit, your approach will list specific conditions to ensure it is constructed to Jef- ferson County Standards (as adopted under Ordi- nance 09-0727-92, JCC Chapter 12.05).

Once the County permit has been obtained, residents must submit a Driveway/Street Apron Construction Permit with a $50 permit fee to the City.

A driveway permit is required to construct a new residential or commercial driveway apron; to a temporary construction entrance; or to restore and repair an existing driveway apron. The apron is the driveway entrance and is located from the edge of the roadway to the property line.
