How to fill out CPR basic first aid:

01
Check the scene: Before starting CPR, make sure the area is safe and free from any potential hazards. Look for any immediate dangers and ensure your own safety.
02
Check the victim's responsiveness: Assess if the victim is conscious or unconscious. Tap them gently and ask if they are okay. If there is no response, assume they are unconscious and proceed to the next step.
03
Call for help: Dial emergency services or ask someone nearby to call for help. CPR should be initiated as quickly as possible, but it is important to have additional assistance on the way.
04
Open the victim's airway: Tilt the victim's head back slightly and lift their chin to open the airway. This helps facilitate breathing during CPR.
05
Check for normal breathing: Place your ear close to the victim's mouth and nose to listen for any signs of breathing. Look for chest movement and feel for any airflow. If the victim is not breathing or only gasping, they require CPR.
06
Begin chest compressions: Position yourself directly above the victim's chest. Place the heel of one hand on the center of the chest, slightly above the lower half of the breastbone. Interlock your other hand with the first and position your shoulders directly above your hands. Push hard and fast, aiming for a depth of approximately 2 inches. Allow the chest to fully recoil before each compression.
07
Perform rescue breaths: After 30 chest compressions, give two rescue breaths. Open the victim's airway again, pinch the nose closed, and cover their mouth with yours, creating a seal. Give two slow breaths, each lasting about one second, watching for the chest to rise. If the chest does not rise, reposition the victim's head and try again.
08
Continue with cycles of compressions and breaths: Repeat the cycle of 30 chest compressions and two rescue breaths until either help arrives, the victim shows signs of life, or you are too exhausted to continue.
