Every cadet is different, but to earn an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, you must meet certain basic requirements. Be at least 17 but not past your 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year you enter the Academy. Be a United States citizen. Be unmarried with no dependents.
The Academy grades on a 4.0 scale. In addition to letter grades, there are seven special grades that are not associated with any quality points and do not impact GPA calculations. Overall Performance Average. Determines graduation order of merit.
International applicants must meet the same admission requirements as all other applicants but should be aware of some differences in the application process. International students cannot apply directly to the Air Force Academy. They must apply through their government, usually their ministry of defense.
