Connect a hose to the cold water inlet valve and place the other end in a suitable water source.

Open the cold water inlet valve to begin filling the tank. The tank should be filled until water starts flowing out of the open faucets.

Close the open faucets once a steady flow of water is established.

Lastly, turn on the power to the water heater.
