Mini Hockey is a modified version of conventional field hockey designed for children age 6 to 12. The training sessions provide solid foundation of basic skills and concepts, such as, passing, receiving, moving, tackling, dribbling and shooting with or without the ball.
“Midget” originally referred to players who were smaller than average, I.e 15 to 17 year old players (as opposed to their larger junior hockey counterparts.)
Bantam - 13 & 14 year olds. Midget - 15, 16 & 17 year olds. Junior - 18, 19 & 20 year olds.

Tier 1. Tier 1 is the highest level of youth hockey competition in USA Hockey, and rosters are formed at separate tryouts in advance of the Tier 2 tryouts. The Tier I designation starts at the 14U age group.
