An FHA loan is like any other loan, but it's insured by the FHA. It can be easier to qualify for than a regular loan (eg, lower down payment requirements). If you can qualify for a conventional loan there's normally no reason to go the FHA route.

The Case Number Processing Dept. will proceed to transfer the FHA Case Number to the new lender. Important: FHA requires the current lender to assign the case number to the new lender in FHA Connection immediately upon the Borrower's request but no later than within 5 business days of the request for transfer.
Case/Appraisal Transfer is used for a non-endorsed case to record the transfer of the mortgage to a new mortgage originator and, if requested, the property appraisal as well. A written Letter of Assignment is required in the case binder when a case/appraisal transfer occurs.
