Apache Jars. 3. An IntelliJ IDEA Cloud account. 4. An IntelliJ IDEA Web Console account with Java Profiler, debugging and profiling functions already installed. What You Will Learn You will learn how to create a simple Apache Axis Web Services application, how to link it with the RESTful Web Services features and how to integrate it with IntelliJ IDEA. The Application The Apache Axis application is based on the Axis Server software, which is a Java server framework for web development, and the Apache CommonsHttp-httpClient which provides simple HTTP 1.1 and HTTP/1.0 Web Services. With the RESTful Web Services capabilities, we can easily create a RESTful Web Services application that is able to serve and exchange text-based content (such as JSON and YAML data). To create this application, we will use Apache Jars and set up the development server with Java Profiler as described later on in this tutorial. How Apache Axis Works The Apache Axis framework provides a number of common components: the Axis Server, which manages the request and Response objects, and the RESTful Web Services (REST) APIs. Axis implements its interfaces as well as provides the required implementations with many components, which makes it easy to extend it. The Axis server, REST, and the Axis APIs can all be used for any business-class application, from web services to databases and other object-relational mapping (ORM) systems. The Apache Axis Server provides the following services: HTTP (version 1, HTTP/1.1), and HTTPS (version 2, HTTP/2), protocols, which is used for web services and HTTPS APIs respectively. You may also use other transport protocols, such as FTP, or LDAP, if more flexibility is required. The Apache CommonsHttp server and other standard HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2 libraries, such as JAWS, HttpURLConnection, JAX-WSGIServer, LAPTOP, and JavaFXHttpURLConnection. And other standard HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2 libraries, such as JAWS, HttpURLConnection, JAX-WSGIServer, LAPTOP, and JavaFXHttpURLConnection.
