How to fill out oral temperature and resting?

01
Start by ensuring you have a reliable oral thermometer. It should be clean and in good working condition.
02
Make sure the person whose temperature you are measuring has not consumed anything icy or hot within the past 15 minutes, as it may affect the accuracy of the reading.
03
Have the person sit or lie down comfortably in a relaxed position. It is best to take their temperature orally, as it provides a more accurate reading compared to other methods.
04
Ask the person to open their mouth and lift their tongue to expose the sublingual pocket, where the temperature probe will be placed. It is important for them to keep their mouth closed during the entire process.
05
Carefully place the thermometer probe under the tongue, ensuring it touches the sublingual pocket. Make sure the person's lips are tightly closed around the thermometer to prevent any air from entering.
06
Leave the thermometer in place for the recommended amount of time, typically around 2 to 3 minutes. Some digital thermometers may beep when the reading is complete.
07
After the specified time, remove the thermometer gently and read the temperature displayed on the screen. Take note of the reading and record it accurately.
08
Once you have obtained the oral temperature, it is time to measure the person's resting heart rate. This can be done manually by placing two fingers (index and middle) on their wrist or neck artery.
09
Count the number of beats felt within a 60-second time frame. You can also count for 30 seconds and multiply the number by two to obtain their resting heart rate per minute.
10
Record the resting heart rate along with the oral temperature in the appropriate documentation.
