Open the person's airway by tilting their head back and lifting their chin.

Look, listen, and feel for normal breathing. If the person is not breathing or only gasping, begin chest compressions.

Place the heel of one hand on the center of the person's chest, and place the other hand on top of the first hand.

Push hard and fast, aiming for a compression depth of at least 2 inches and a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute.

After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths by tilting the person's head back again, pinching their nose shut, and covering their mouth with yours.

Repeat cycles of 30 compressions and 2 breaths until help arrives or the person starts breathing on their own.

Remember to continue providing BLS CPR until professional help takes over.
