How to fill out making soap

01
Step 1: Gather all the ingredients necessary for making soap. This includes oils, lye, water, and any additives or fragrances you want to include.
02
Step 2: Set up a safe and well-ventilated area to work, preferably a dedicated soap-making space. Safety goggles, gloves, and an apron are essential protective gear.
03
Step 3: Measure the appropriate amount of lye using a digital scale and mix it with water slowly, stirring gently until dissolved. This process creates a lye solution.
04
Step 4: Heat the oils in a large stainless-steel pot on low heat until they reach the desired temperature. This temperature varies depending on the specific recipe.
05
Step 5: Slowly pour the lye solution into the heated oils, stirring continuously and slowly. This helps the mixture of oils and lye begin the saponification process.
06
Step 6: Use a stick blender or hand whisk to mix the soap batter until it reaches a thick consistency known as 'trace'. Trace is achieved when a small amount of the mixture drizzled over the surface leaves a visible trace or mark.
07
Step 7: If desired, add any additives or fragrances during the trace stage and mix well to distribute evenly throughout the soap batter.
08
Step 8: Pour the soap batter into prepared soap molds. Tap the molds on a hard surface to eliminate any air bubbles and smooth the surface with a spatula.
09
Step 9: Cover the molds with a piece of cardboard or a towel to insulate and prevent sudden temperature fluctuations. Leave the soap to cure for 24-48 hours.
10
Step 10: After the curing period, gently unmold the soap bars and place them on a drying rack or a well-ventilated area to cure for several weeks. Turn the bars occasionally to ensure even drying.
11
Step 11: Once the soap bars are fully cured, usually in 4-6 weeks, they are ready to be used or gifted to others. Enjoy your homemade soap!
