How to fill out blood pressure screening guidelines

01
To fill out blood pressure screening guidelines, follow these steps:
02
Start by obtaining a blood pressure cuff and a stethoscope.
03
Ensure that the person being screened is seated comfortably and relaxed.
04
Wrap the cuff around the upper arm, approximately one inch above the elbow.
05
Position the stethoscope over the brachial artery, which can be found inside the elbow crease.
06
Inflate the cuff until the pressure is 30 points above the expected systolic pressure. Make sure the person's arm is fully supported and relaxed.
07
Gradually release the pressure by deflating the cuff at a rate of 2-3 mmHg per second.
08
Listen for the first clear sound (systolic pressure) and note the corresponding pressure on the gauge.
09
Continue to deflate the cuff until the sound completely disappears (diastolic pressure) and record the pressure on the gauge.
10
Repeat the process at least twice and calculate the average value for more accurate results.
11
Finally, document the obtained blood pressure readings and any relevant observations in the screening guidelines form.
