If the AED advises a shock, make sure everyone is clear of the person and press the shock button. The AED will deliver a controlled electric shock to the person's heart, which can help restore a normal rhythm.

After delivering the shock, the AED will prompt you to perform CPR for a specific period of time. Follow the instructions provided by the AED for performing CPR correctly.

Continue to follow the prompts and perform CPR until emergency medical professionals arrive or until the person shows signs of responsiveness.
