In the box next to the dollar sign ($), write the numerical amount of the payment you want to make. Make sure to include the cents using a decimal point and two digits (e.g., 100.00).

Below the "Pay to the Order of" line, write out the payment amount in words. Start with the dollars, followed by "and," then the cents. Be sure to write legibly and use capital letters.

In the memo line, you can write a note or description of the payment purpose if desired. This step is optional but can be helpful for you and the recipient to identify the transaction later.

Sign the check on the line located at the bottom right-hand corner. Use the same signature you use for other official documents and bank transactions.

Attach the check to a fax cover sheet, which includes relevant contact information and instructions for the recipient. Make sure to include your fax number and the recipient's fax number.

Dial the recipient's fax number using a fax machine or an online faxing service. Follow the instructions provided by your faxing device to send the check.
