I take a day off so what are these to do they size up a senior softball league actually I think you may have been playing kickball in Iowa when all you're right I was we were all being bottom line is Bill and I went out and played a game of softball we got paid for it, so we were like pros that day you know much more than the score correct well actually it was about the score as in the word score how much the score is like you know four score and seven years ago the beginning of the that refers to time or twenty years a score is 20 years what and these guys call themselves three score as in 60 as in you have to be entering your seventh decade on earth to play in this senior softball league we have guys 59 58 57 just waiting to turn 60 and when they turn 60 they can come up here and wave on guys like Gary hey Jack who's been wanting to play since 1993 when he was still in his 40s I was watching TV and I said when I retire this is what I want to do when I get older, but this is exactly the sort of activity that these guys say keeps them from getting old I first came down here I was playing golf five days a week and when you get out of the cart you go get a ball I get back in the cart doesn't get the blood pumping, so I mean I was looking for something, and finally I got old enough to join these guys, and it's been great no let's go let's hit the ball despite our tender years John and I got an invitation to join three score as their summer season started last week with a few words of advice a lot of the problems we run into with people coming back it's been 30 40 years since they played ball, and it takes time to get it back, but you got your legs back pretty quick it just felt like 30 or 40 years feels a lot different throwing a softball — you got to grab it big I kind of feel like Bad News Bears the good news is that this wasn't cutthroat competition you think in my head bump up pop hit in the interest of fair play and sportsmanship John and I didn't bring our egg games, and they were here a booted ball there but in the end after all nine innings we survived how do you think John and I did I think John needs to move up to our senior league, but you did very well you thought you were going to go play an inning or two, and they said no you're staying no one caught on camera, but Bill had a great play he had a behind the backflipped it to second base and got somewhat out like it was really nice excellent play it was this like old Bell man when the camera wasn't going yeah yeah when the camera wasn't going it's always that way yeah a lot of fun
