How to fill out basic cardiac life support

Illustration

How to fill out basic cardiac life support:

01
First, assess the situation and ensure personal safety before approaching the victim.
02
If the victim is unresponsive, check for breathing by looking for chest rise and fall. If there is no breathing or abnormal breathing, begin chest compressions.
03
Place the heel of one hand in the center of the victim's chest, and place the other hand on top. Interlock your fingers and position your body directly over the victim's chest.
04
Perform compressions by pushing hard and fast at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute. Ensure that each compression is deep enough, with a depth of at least 2 inches.
05
After 30 compressions, open the airway by tilting the head back and lifting the chin. Pinch the victim's nose closed and give two rescue breaths, making sure to see chest rise with each breath.
06
Continue this cycle of 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths until emergency medical personnel arrive or the victim shows signs of life.
07
It is important to note that if you are trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), you should use it as soon as it becomes available.
08
Remember to provide appropriate care and support to the victim's family and bystanders during and after the resuscitation efforts.
