In the box next to the "Pay to the Order of" line, write the monetary amount that you wish to pay using numbers. Be sure to include both dollars and cents, if applicable. Double-check for any errors in numbers and decimal placement.

On the same line, below the numerical amount, write the amount in words. Start with the word "Amount" and finish with the word "Only" after writing out the amount in words. It is important to write this clearly and correctly to avoid any misunderstandings.

Optionally, you can fill out the Memo line located in the bottom-left corner of the cheque. This is used to provide additional information regarding the purpose of the payment or any relevant notes you want to include. This step is not mandatory, but it can be helpful for record-keeping purposes.
