How to fill out quilt binding making form

01
Start by preparing your quilt binding fabric. Cut fabric strips that are 2.5 inches wide and the length should match the perimeter measurement of your quilt.
02
Take one fabric strip and fold it in half lengthwise with the wrong sides together.
03
Align the raw edges of the folded strip with the raw edges of the quilt. Make sure to start attaching the binding on one side of the quilt, leaving a tail of about 6-8 inches.
04
Use pins or clips to secure the binding in place along the raw edges of the quilt. Continue pinning/clipping until you reach the corner of the quilt.
05
When you reach a corner, fold the binding strip diagonally to create a neat mitered corner. Then continue pinning/clipping along the next side of the quilt.
06
Repeat this process for all four corners of the quilt, creating neat mitered corners each time.
07
Once the binding is attached all the way around the quilt, trim any excess binding fabric, leaving about 6-8 inches of binding tail at the end.
08
Open up the two binding tails and trim the ends at a 45-degree angle. Then fold the tails back together, right sides facing, and sew across the diagonal edge to create a continuous binding.
09
Finally, fold the binding over the raw edges of the quilt to the backside. Pin or clip in place, then hand-sew or machine-stitch the binding to the back of the quilt, making sure to catch both the front and back layers of the binding fabric.
10
Continue stitching along the entire length of the binding, removing pins or clips as you go. Finish off the stitching neatly and your quilt binding is complete!
