We honor our rich history, exemplifying Chi Epsilon's four pillars: Scholarship, Character, Practicality, and Sociability.
Eligibility is based on candidates demonstrating Chi Epsilon's qualities of Scholarship, Character, Practicality and Sociability. For undergraduate students, Scholarship is demonstrated by being in the top third of the junior or senior class. Graduate Students may also be elected.
Title says it all. I was just invited to join Chi Epsilon, a civil engineering honor society. The organization is legit, but the only tangible benefits I can think of are possible networking opportunities and being able to put it on my resume. That's not much for $75 dues and a two month pledging period.
Chi Epsilon members are expected to uphold the four pillars of the Honor Society: Scholarship, Character, Practicality, and Sociability.
To be accepted, students must demonstrate that they are outstanding in all four pillars of the National Honor Society: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. Scholarship is a commitment to learning.
Ph. D.: Applicants normally should have completed an M.S. degree program with at least a 3.25 grade-point average, and hold a B.S. degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or equivalent.
These requirements include a minimum GPA of 3.0, completion of at least three semesters of coursework, and ranking in the top third of their class. Being a member of Chi Epsilon is a valuable honor that can open doors to networking opportunities, scholarships, and career advancement.
Student members shall be those who have at least a GPA of 3.5, rank not lower than the highest 35% of their class in scholarship, and completed the number of credit hours used by the institution to designate one full academic term equivalency in a graduate level program.
