Instructions and Help about TX DWC069

Hey guys this is clay again I want to show you how I'm fixing these little slots in the dash right here on the 67 Ford f-100 when you have a factory dash pad on here you've got those slots one two I think there's an eight of them along here, so I'll just take some 22 gauge metal that I bought just a little piece of it at Tractor Supply, and I'm just cutting it with tin snips now I've got two magnets underneath the slot right here, and I'm just putting these down here just kind of holds it flush, and I'm just doing my fine trimming right now this just fine-tuning this thing so sit down in there you really don't want to be like super tight because when you well that metal is going to expand a little don't pop it up all right so that feels pretty smooth yourself in that little crack now guys as you work on this metal you have to kind of tap it into place when I took this real fine point here, and I use very little light taps like you just saw, and you can just move that thing right into place and then keep on Well born play aren't it back now as you see there if you've ever been a hole just take your time you can come back later let it cool down a little and then just start welding and right around the edge of that hole really easy just a small burst just let me do it here in just a minute, and you can close the hole wide back up first body work I've ever done on thin metal and as you saw burnt through at the back and I just kind of took my time and hold it right back, so I've got some tall pieces on here I'm going to have to go grind off now and then that will reveal if I really got the crack right, but I tried to overlay especially that top row you can see I tried to touch each weld to the next we'll do the first one over here in the corner of the — so I can kind of get my feel for, Anand now I'm going to move this one I might do a little grinder on this just to see how that turned out alright guys I'm going to show you how I'm grinding this but the main thing you want to do is not stay on any one point very long, and you don't want to be grounded on the body here you want to be grinding only on those little wells that you have sticking up you're just trying to take that well back down a little, so I'm gonna speed this up, so you're not getting bored with it, but that's how you do this you don't want to stay on any one spot very long because you can warp the metal you can see there that my little filler piece is a little lower I think than the rest of the middle, so I got two options I can use a little body filler because I mean that's solid metal now all the way around and get here with somebody filler kind of clean that up, or I can weld some more beads right down the middle of this to bring the hyped up with metal image and then grind it down again oh I get it laughs once you grind them off they look kind of like you know kind of pop corny, so I'm gonna they're they feel flat, but you can see every one of those little spot welds, so I'm gonna...
