In the absence of a single recipient for the year, the award will be given to the annual recipient of the award from the previous calendar year. An award in the amount of 15,000 is available to any person, organization or corporation. All funds are raised through the Community Arts Recognition Award. The awards are administered by the Greater Denton Arts Council. Nominations for the 2012 CARA are being accepted through December 15, 2010, with nominations from individuals or businesses, not necessarily for individual works. There is no separate deadline for applications. Please include with the application the year in which each works will be exhibited. Entries may be submitted by email, fax or mail. All information must be complete, including address and phone number for the artist or producer, and a brief biography. The deadline for each submission is Friday, December 15, 2010. The winning artist will be announced shortly before the annual ceremony on February 21, 2011. The Greater Denton Arts Council will select a top two from the top two eligible entries received into the award. The second and third highest ranked entries will each be awarded the award for the year 2010. No duplicate entries.
