If you are under the age of 12, you may work outside of school hours in any non-hazardous job on a small farm that is exempt from the federal minimum wage provisions as long as you have parental consent.
For non-exempt children, the minimum age for employment in non-agricultural occupations is • 18 years for hazardous occupations; • 16 years for employment in non-hazardous occupations; and • 14 years for a limited set of occupations, with restrictions on hours and work conditions.
