Students currently qualify for reduced-cost lunches if their family's income is at or below 185% of the federal poverty level — about $57,720 for a family of four. Next academic year, these students will qualify for free meals.
If you receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, all of your children who attend school automatically qualify for free school meals. Participation in other federal assistance programs, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) also provides automatic eligibility.
