How to Fill Out Anna Peritoneal Dialysis:

01
Make sure to have a clean and sanitized area ready for the procedure.
02
Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water to maintain proper hygiene.
03
Gather all the necessary supplies, such as sterile bags, sterile tubing, connection caps, and dialysis fluid.
04
Carefully inspect the supplies for any signs of damage or contamination. Do not use any items that appear compromised.
05
Connect the tubing to the dialysis bag following the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure a secure and proper connection to avoid leaks.
06
Open the sterile connection caps and use them to cover the ends of the tubing. This will maintain sterility until it is time to connect it to the peritoneal catheter.
07
Clean the exit site of the peritoneal catheter with an antiseptic solution provided by your healthcare provider. Gently pat it dry with a sterile gauze pad.
08
Connect the sterilized tubing to the peritoneal catheter, making sure to secure the connection properly.
09
Hang the filled dialysis bag on a stand or hook at a suitable height. Make sure it is high enough to allow fluid flow but not too high to cause discomfort or excessive pressure.
10
Open the flow clamp on the tubing to initiate the infusion of dialysis fluid into the peritoneal cavity. Make sure the fluid flows steadily and without any obstruction.
11
Once the desired amount of fluid has been infused, close the flow clamp to stop the flow. Follow the prescribed dwell time specified by your healthcare provider.
12
During the dwell time, try to keep yourself comfortable and minimize any strenuous activities that may disrupt the dialysis process.
13
After the dwell time, open the flow clamp again to allow the fluid to drain out from the peritoneal cavity, back into the dialysis bag.
14
Ensure that all the fluid is properly drained before disconnecting the tubing from the peritoneal catheter.
15
Dispose of all the used supplies properly according to recommended guidelines, following any specific disposal instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
