A CR/NC grade will not affect the student's GPA. To enroll in a class on a CR/NC basis, the student must register for the class and then submit a request to change their grading option to CR/NC (refer to Grade Option Change Requests for instructions).

How to Submit a Grade Option Change Request Select Create New Request. Select Next. The classes you're enrolled in will be listed. Choose “Change to CR/NC” or “Change to Audit” in the dropdown menu for the class you'd like to change options for. Provide the justification for your request. Then, select Submit.
CR/NC grades have no impact on GPA. Any NC grades will have the same impact on SAP and Pace calculations as an F or WU.
This option will allow you to complete a course and have it count toward your degree credits that you need to graduate, but it will have no impact on your GPA. Instead of earning a numerical grade, a "CR" or "NCR" notation will appear in its place on your transcript.
Credit/No Credit Grades (Seaver College Information Only) For undergraduate students, a grade of "CR" is assigned to indicate work equivalent to an "A," "B," or "C." A grade of "NC" is assigned to "C-" "D" or "F." Credit/no credit grades are not computed into the overall semester grade point average.
Students earning the equivalent to a C or higher will receive a grade of CR, while NC is equivalent to a C- or below. CR/NC courses can not be used to fulfill Core, major, or minor requirements. Courses with this grading mode have no impact on a student's GPA.
