What are logos, ethos, pathos, and kairos? Often, instructors give assignments asking students to analyze the “argument” that a text makes, or to take a side on a “hot topic” issue.
Rhetorical appeals are the qualities of an argument that make it truly persuasive. To make a convincing argument, a writer appeals to a reader in several ways. The four different types of persuasive appeals are logos, ethos, pathos, and kairos. Logos, the appeal to logic, is used to convince an audience with reason.
These include ethos, pathos, and logos, all three of which appear in Aristotle's Rhetoric. Together with those three modes of persuasion, there is also a fourth term, kairos (Ancient Greek: καιρός), which is related to the “moment” that the speech is going to be held.
Instructors may ask you to consider the concepts of “logos,” “ethos,” “pathos,” and “kairos” (all Ancient Greek rhetoric terms) to breakdown the rhetorical situation.
The four components of ethos are: expertise, similarity, authority, and trustworthiness. To use ethos in writing, the writer may share their expertise and authority on a topic as well as show how they are trustworthy and what they have in common with the audience.

APPEALS is a legal process through which individuals or entities can request a review of a decision made by a governmental agency or a court. It allows for reconsideration of judgments and administrative rulings.
Any individual or entity that is adversely affected by a decision made by a governmental agency or court may be required to file an appeal. This includes parties involved in legal cases, applicants for permits, or anyone impacted by administrative decisions.
To fill out an appeal, one typically needs to complete an appeal form provided by the relevant authority, clearly stating the grounds for the appeal, and submit any required documentation or evidence supporting their case, along with the necessary fees.
The purpose of APPEALS is to provide a mechanism for correcting errors in decisions made by lower courts or administrative bodies, to ensure justice is served, and to uphold the rule of law.
Typically, the information required includes the name and contact details of the appellant, details of the original decision, the grounds for the appeal, relevant facts, and any supporting documents or evidence.
