NASM-certified personal trainers are required toearn continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain their certification. There are a variety of ways to earn CEUs, including attending workshopsand seminars, taking online courses, and completing self-study programs.
Log into your NASM account and click on the link to the NASM-CPT Recertification Portal. Click on My CEUs under the Continuing Ed. section in the left menu column. Enter your CEUs by choosing Provider/Petition CEUs or Add Other CEUs.
NASM-CPTs are required to earn 2.0 Continuing Education Units (20 contact hours) every two years in order to recertify. This includes 0.1 CEUs from the mandatory CPR/AED certification. CEUs are based upon contact hours - one contact hour is equivalent to 0.1 CEUs.
