How to Fill Out CPR First Aid:

01
Ensure your own safety: Before providing CPR first aid, make sure the environment is safe for you and the person you are assisting. Check for any potential dangers or hazards that may pose a risk to you or the victim.
02
Assess the situation: Determine if the person is responsive or not. Gently tap on their shoulder and ask if they are okay. If there is no response, proceed to the next step.
03
Call for help: Dial the emergency services or ask someone nearby to call for professional medical assistance. Time is critical in a medical emergency, so activating EMS should be a priority.
04
Check for breathing: Open the airway by tilting the person's head back gently and lifting their chin. Look, listen, and feel for any signs of breathing for no more than 10 seconds. If there is no breathing or only gasping, move to the next step.
05
Begin chest compressions: Position the person flat on their back on a firm surface. Place the heel of one hand on the center of their chest, just above the lower half of the sternum. Interlock your other hand on top. Start compressing the chest at a rate of at least 100-120 compressions per minute, with a depth of about 2-2.4 inches (5-6 cm). Allow the chest to recoil fully between compressions.
06
Provide rescue breaths: After performing 30 chest compressions, give two rescue breaths. Ensure the person's airway is open by tilting their head back. Pinch their nose shut and create a seal over their mouth with your mouth. Give a breath that lasts about one second, making sure their chest rises. Repeat this step.
07
Continue cycles of compressions and rescue breaths: Follow the ratio of 30 compressions to 2 breaths, repeating until professional help arrives or the person starts showing signs of life.
08
Follow proper handover: Once professional help arrives, be ready to provide them with accurate information about the situation, the steps you have taken, and any other relevant details that can assist them in providing appropriate medical care.
