How to fill out PPE kit and VTM:

01
Gather all necessary materials: PPE kit (including gown, gloves, mask, and face shield), VTM (Viral Transport Medium), specimen labels, and any other required supplies.
02
Put on the appropriate PPE before handling any materials to ensure your own safety and prevent contamination. This typically includes putting on the gown, gloves, mask, and face shield following proper donning procedures.
03
Open the VTM tube carefully, ensuring not to contaminate the inside. It is recommended to place the tube on a stable surface such as a laboratory bench or a tray.
04
Using a swab, take the sample from the appropriate site of the patient. This could be the throat, nasal cavity, or any other specified area.
05
After collecting the sample, carefully insert the swab into the VTM tube, ensuring that it reaches the bottom of the tube.
06
Break off or cut the swab shaft, as close to the top of the tube as possible, using sterile scissors or breaking point indicated on the swab stick.
07
Close the VTM tube securely, making sure it is tightly sealed to prevent any leakage.
08
Label the VTM tube with the patient's identification information, including their name, date of birth, and unique specimen identifier.
09
Place the sealed and labeled VTM tube in a biohazard bag or container designated for transporting infectious materials.
10
Dispose of any used PPE in the appropriate waste containers, following proper disposal protocols.

Instructions and Help about ppe kit and vtm

[Music] today I'd like to do an earthquake preparedness video on a concept that I've been working on for the past few months now on PPE or personal protective equipment and where you could store it for deployment during an earthquake scenario so during an earthquake we want to drop and cover and most of the time they recommend going underneath the secure surface like a desk or a table for example you're dining room table or if you're at the office underneath your desk at work to write it out so during and after the earthquake you're going to have to deal with the possibility of falling debris landing on you for example if your building was damaged and so initially when the earthquakes happening immediately go underneath the table for in right at all you don't want to be searching for your gear or anything like that and after that initial earthquakes over most likely there's going to be some aftershocks that also occur, but I wanted to have some level protections because I didn't want anything landing on my head for example for the earthquake was already over maybe an aftershock happened a few minutes later while I was trying to evacuate the building because I thought it was safe, and I didn't have any protective equipment, so that's why I was looking at various PPE equipment like a helmet I've been testing out helmets for the past couple of months to use in my various emergency kits and for this one specific to earthquake preparedness I definitely wanted to go with a hardhat there's a reason why construction workers are required to include one with their PPE it offers the best little protection for a head, and it's fairly inexpensive the only problem again is that you can't just store it in the closet with your bug out bag for example you if you want to have quick access to it to use in that kind of earthquake scenario for example otherwise don't even bother just go to safety initially so that was kind of my dilemma on how do I get the hardhat stored in a location where I could easily put it on and yet still be protected by the table or the desk that we would still under during the earthquake so my wife Mrs. urban prepper came up with a really nice idea she's like well why don't you just store the hard hat underneath the table duh I should have thought of that and as you suggesting just having a flat up against the bottom of the table and when we go under the table during an emergency or an earthquake we would be able to access them very quickly, and I thought it was a really, perfect idea, so I was talking about this concept during the recent prepper party that I had with some local Preppers in the area and how this was something that was working on for emergency preps and Mark from eat carbs he's a YouTuber I'll put a link to this channel a great channel make sure you subscribe to it, he said well why don't you store your PPE equipment inside the helmet is after all it's basically a storage container as you see here just around salad bowl...
