We'll discuss spaceflight immune function exploration and clinical risk. And so what I'll deliver today is really a State of the Union for spaceflight immunology because it's been an interesting couple of decades through post-flight studies that told us how things were following spaceflight, but we didn't have in-flight information through the advent of ISS. And we now have some analyzing information about what happens the immune system during spaceflight. And through the subsequent studies that are going to happen on ISS to really completely characterize this phenomenon. One of the lesser-known phenomenon of physiological dysregulation during spaceflight, most people are familiar with bone and muscle loss, but not too many people are well familiar with immune system dysregulation. So we'll discuss the immune system today for those that are not familiar with. We'll go over some data from ISS, talk a little about clinical incidents how we collect samples during spaceflight, the types of samples we need to return. Then we'll delve into ground-based analogs and some ground-based data. If there's time we'll even get to flight hardware. So as I said, most people are very well familiar with most of the adverse effects of spaceflight on the human body, fluid shifts, muscle demineralization those minerals have to go somewhere, and they go into the urine. There is some kidney stone formation, sensory motor changes. Most people are a little less familiar with dysregulation of the immune system, but it has a potential to be a serious clinical risk for exploration missions, maybe not so much for orbital spaceflight, but three years at a time at an increased radiation environment has the potential to be a clinical risk. So we'll back up and talk about the immune system for those that are not familiar. It's actually one of the largest tissues in the human body even though it's mostly in a fluid state, it's white blood cells in the lymph nodes and the peripheral blood and almost everywhere in the body...
