She and her husband, Ron, live with their three children in a beautiful house overlooking Big Sur. “I am a passionate entrepreneur,” she noted, “in the field of retail management, and I am a board member of a local non-profit organization called the Asian American Community Coalition.” Nancy Too has been actively active in the Asian American community since 1986 when she initiated a group to oppose the removal of the “exclusionary covenant” from the San Mateo County Charter. As chair emeritus of the PAC ACC, Nancy has been a guiding force. “In the name of community and in the name of social justice,” Nancy commented, “I would like to see San Mateo County achieve the level of education, jobs and social development that I experienced here.” Daphne Wok is a board member of the Board of Trustees of the Asian American Community Consortium of San Francisco Public Utilities. She serves on the PAC ACC and San Mateo County Economic Development Commission as well as the Board of Education for the local school board. She believes education is essential to helping Asian Americans to achieve social and economic success. “My father came to San Francisco at age 15,” remembered Daphne. “While he was in middle school, he was sent to the California School for the Deaf in Palo Alto. Now, a few years ago, my father was able to move back to the Bay Area to be with his family where he is still an active and active member of the community. My goal is to make sure that his experience, and that of other Asian Americans, can be incorporated into the educational system so that they can succeed in life.” Hon. Norman Y. Min, who served two terms on the Board of Education, said, “I am proud to be a part of the PAC ACC and the Asian American community in San Mateo County.” Honorable Norm Min, who formerly served as the mayor of San Mateo County's only black township, serves as PAC ACC's board of directors, and is a graduate of San Jose State University and Stores State College.
