DEBRIEFING PROTOCOL The Debriefing Statement should be written in non-technical language, taking care to define technical terms when they must be used. The Debriefing Statement should include the following: 1. The questions, hypotheses, and issues that motivated the research.
A debriefing document is needed when a study involves deception, incomplete disclosure, or studies designed in such a way that providing complete background information will invalidate the study.
