What Is a Change Request Log? A change request log is a document that's used to record all change requests that are received during the life of a project. As each change request is received, it becomes logged before it is sized and sent for approval, deferment, or rejection.
Both are same. Change log does not include the impact of changes. Approved change requests are in the monitor and control phase. Change log is used to document changes, approved change requests occur after processing by change control board.
A change request is a proposal to alter some aspect of a given project. Change requests can originate either internally or externally. For example, the client may request a change to the agreed-upon deliverables, or you may receive a change request form from a team member who's actively working on the project.
On the Change Form, you can provide the description, benefits, costs and urgency of the change, as well as the change impact. Any supporting documents are attached to the Change Form, before presentation to management for approval.
