Questions & answers

Below is a list of the most common customer questions.
If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Pro Tools This is one of the most widely used DAWs by professional audio engineers. Because it has been around for so long, there are also a ton of resources online to help out no matter what type of DAW you are using.
DAWs like PreSonus Studio One, Image-Line FL Studio and Ableton Live have a lot to offer the producer and you'll find that professional people will use whatever software is right for the project they're working on.
The Industry Standard: Avid Pro Tools This is the industry-standard DAW for recording, and it's been a mainstay in every major studio for decades (even if many now also offer other software).

I still use Cubase 5 for some sequencing and programming, though, because it has some wacky VST things that I love. I also use Reason in Pro Tools for programming; whatever sets me off. "The sound of digital, including Pro Tools, has become way better, and I can get out of Pro Tools now what I want.
In the case of music production, automation means having a DAW (Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Ableton, etc.) automatically perform tasks over time, particularly moving knobs, faders, and switches for you. The most popular use of automation in mixing is to adjust the volume of a track.
Move anything else to an external storage drive. Laptops often have smaller storage capacity, so having an external hard drive is especially useful if you're using it for music production. DAWs read and write high-quality audio files at speeds, which can take up a lot of the internal drive's bandwidth.
