For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Check the position of the minute hand of the clock when the top-of-the-hour strike occurs. Open the access panel door to the pendulum and bring it to a stop. Remove the minute hand retaining nut by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the minute hand from its arbor.
When your mantel clock chimes, count the number of times it chimes. Move the hour hand to the hour indicated by the hourly chime (count the number of gongs at the hour). Reset the time using the minute hand to the correct hour and the chime should adjust along with the clock hands as well.
Place one forefinger gently on the minute hand and push it lightly over to the number 12. Your clock will now naturally emit a series of chimes. Move the hour hand very gently to this number on the clock face. Push the minute hand around the clock until the clock displays the actual time.
There is a simple fix for this issue if your grandfather clock is striking the wrong hour. 1) When your grandfather clock strikes the next hour, count the number of strikes. 2) Move only the shorter hour hand to the number on the dial that you just counted when the clock chimed.
Check the position of the minute hand of the clock when the top-of-the-hour strike occurs. Open the access panel door to the pendulum and bring it to a stop. Remove the minute hand retaining nut by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the minute hand from its arbor.
In 12-hour striking, used most commonly in striking clocks today, the clock strikes once at 1:00 A.M., twice at 2:00 A.M., continuing in this way up to twelve times at 12:00 P.M., then starts again, striking once at 1:00 P.M., twice at 2:00 P.M., up to twelve times at 12:00 A.M.
Reading a Clock. The hour hand is the shorter of the two clock hands. It moves from one clock number to the next every hour, and it makes one complete rotation around the clock every 12 hours (since there are 12 clock numbers on each clock). Look at which clock number the hour hand is pointing to.
