Renaissance (neighborhood) charter schools accept applications on a rolling basis. If you wish to apply to your neighborhood school, you can still apply for September 2020 by submitting a post-deadline application. Your neighborhood school will contact you directly to discuss enrollment.
When can you apply for charter schools?
Each school sets its own application deadline, but most schools require that applications be in before April 1 for a child's placement in August/September. As some schools have earlier deadlines, you should inquire with individual schools about their deadlines. The Charter Center does not accept applications.
Can you apply to more than one charter school?
In general, there is no limit to the number of offers a student may receive from different charter schools and being chosen for one school does not limit the chances of being accepted to another.
What are the requirements to get into a charter school?
Admission to a charter school cannot be limited on the basis of disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, ancestry, intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, or athletic ability. Charter schools must accept all students who wish to attend, so long as there is space.

Charter schools are public schools of choice, meaning that no one is assigned or zoned to attend a charter school. Per state statute, charter schools operate with certain freedom from some of the regulations that are imposed upon district-run schools.
