Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The truth of the matter is that adding an aftermarket exhaust system to your vehicle will not void your warranty in most cases. Note that phrase, most cases. If your new system does not cause any damage to other components on the vehicle, then your warranty will be fine and remain intact.
Although many dealers would have you think otherwise, simply having an aftermarket part or modifying your vehicle cannot void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states that a dealer must prove that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before it can deny warranty coverage.
Damage from a natural disaster also voids your warranty, as the car's warranty only covers manufacturer's defects. Some examples of natural or environmental disasters that would void your car's warranty are earthquakes, fires, and hurricanes.
Installing Aftermarket Parts May (or may not) Help the Performance of Your Vehicle. Most drivers who install aftermarket parts generally shy away from going to car dealerships. Why? Lower cost and technicians at dealerships do not install aftermarket parts.
TL.DR-No, it will not void your warranty unless you screw it up. Despite what a salesman will tell you — especially in relation to aftermarket upgrades, and who does the maintenance — they cannot deny a warranty claim unless they can prove the work you or a third party did was responsible for the failure.
Could they possibly void my extended warranty if I install them myself? It will not “void” a warranty. You will not be able to make any warranty claim that is due to the aftermarket pads, or caused by the aftermarket pads. You HAVE to change your brake pads.
The truth of the matter is that adding an aftermarket exhaust system to your vehicle will not void your warranty in most cases. Note that phrase, most cases. If your new system does not cause any damage to other components on the vehicle, then your warranty will be fine and remain intact.
No. A muffler delete will not void your suspension warranty. But may void warranties tied to powertrain.
