The user interface for entering numbers in a field is not particularly user friendly. That's the biggest thing. A feature to 'delight' your customers would be to include a field that had a simple 'summation' function.

Here are the formulas for getting a ship's draft: Formula for getting Mean Draft: MD = FD + AD / 2. Where: MD for Mean Draft. ... Formula for getting Fore Draft: FD = MD x 2 AD. Formula for getting Aft Draft: AD = MD x 2 FD. Here is the Example Problem:
Final Draft Calculation Mean of Mean Draft (MM) = (MCD + FAM / 2) = (10.965 + 10.996) /2 = 21.961 / 2 = 10.9805 M. Quarter Mean (MMM) = (MM + MCD) /2 = (10.9805 + 10.965) /2 = 21.9455 /2 = 10.97275 M. = 10.973 M. = (10.796 + 11.196 + 65.790) / 8 = 87.782 / 8 = 10.97275 M = 10.973 M.
mean draft. [MN draft] (naval architecture) The mean of the drafts at the bow and the stern; for a vessel with a straight keel, the draft at the midpoint of the waterline length.
feel a draft. To sense that one is being rejected; to sense that someone is cool toward one, possibly for racial reasons. Oh, man, I feel a draft in here.
A lot of people wonder if there is a difference between draft beer and draft beer, and there is one difference between the two: spelling. That's right. Draft beer and draft beer are the same thing, just spelled differently. In America, it is spelled draft beer.
LCF = Longitudinal Center of Flotation = center of the water plane. When you are considering the addition of new weight (cargo) and you want to calculate its effect without having to recalculate the LEG of the whole vessel, use the distance from the LCF to the CG of the added cargo.
Center of Flotation (LCF): When the ship floats at a particular draft, any trimming moment acting on the ship would act about a particular point on the water plane. ... The distance of the center of flotation is read with respect to either of the perpendiculars or the mid-ship, and is abbreviated as LCF.
The mean draft is obtained by calculating from the averaging of the stern and bow drafts, with correction for water level variation and value of the position of F with respect to the average perpendicular. The trim of a ship is the difference between the forward and aft draft.
LAB and LEG This is the longitudinal center of the underwater volume, and is the point through which all the buoyancy can be said to act vertically upwards. LEG is the longitudinal center of gravity. This is the point through which all the weight of the vessel can be said to act vertically downwards.
The draft survey is performed by reading the ship's draft on the draft markings at six standard points on the hull: forward, midships and aft on both port and starboard sides. Corrections for factors such as trim, water density and non-cargo weight changes are made before calculating the cargo weight change.
